I've neglected my blog again............what am I like, lol?

Anyway, what has been happening................? Well, I finally managed to send my parcel of created items off to Di last week. I wish I could be there for the Breast Cancer (Think Pink) sale, I just feel that it's going to go really well indeed and there will be lots of money raised for Breast Cancer. Woo hoo!!

Over at Bubbly Funk last weekend (see Caroline's link, because I am too lazy to put one in, oh gawd that sounds awful, but it's not meant to be lol), we had our 2nd Cyber Crop. I wasn't able to join in throughout the day, but judging by the classes I've downloaded, the girls who took part in creating the projects did a really wonderful job indeed. I managed to start Suzie's dotee doll on Sunday, but haven't finished it yet..........definately lots of inspiration in these projects and sure to keep you busy for a while.

I managed to get round to making a card for Di O a couple of weeks ago, despite it being her birthday a 2-3 weeks prior, so sorry it was late lovely. I really enjoyed making it though and had fun choosing the colours and papers, ha ha.

Here were my bits and bobs I used for Di's card:-

Versafine ink - Vintage sepia
Archival - Brilliance pearlescent Orchid
Judikins - Daisy Bouquet stamp
K & Co Ology - Pink and green Grandma wallpaper
Bazzill - Pink and Hilary card
Stickles - Icicles
Watercolour pencils................................only I didn't watercolour, lol.

I also made a birthday card for Kathy, whose birthday was last week. Had a bit of fun making this one too. I just fancied using turquoise and black.

Bits and bobs used for Kathy's card:-

DCWV - Black and White Stack
Bazzill - Fourz Aqua shades
Judikins 2285H - Three Sisters stamp
Misc black card
Flowers
Diamontes (real, of course, lol)
Versacube - Lagoon Blue
Versafine - Onyx black

That's all for now, been busy with my new college course that I haven't got time to blink, lol. Catch you soon and thank you for taking a peep at my blog. XX

I've been able to upload last month's card swap on Bubbly Funk. Karen hosted this swap, with the theme being orange. Something bright to brighten up this awful weather we've been having, lol. My partner was Karen and this is the card I made with her lovely selection of papers.....

This is the card I made with mine. I find it really challenging doing something like this as it really makes you think about what you are going to do. Plus, it's inspiring to see what others come up with too.

Materials used for my card: orange/gold marble paper.

Small scalloped circles from the Nestabilities set, then the aperture just cut in half.

Hero Arts Fashion Flowers from a large set and small set. These were stamped with black stazon ink and then watercoloured and cut out.

Happy Birthday rubon.

Not sure what the papers and materials were for Karen, but I can find out if anyone would like to know.

I plan to test my scissors out on a sheet of new stamps, should I get time on the weekend.

Thanks for stopping by and see you soon. XX

Sunday 7 September 2008

I've missed a few days, I'm slipping, lol. My goodness it's so difficult to keep up since working full time, lol, plus on the weekend, I tend to cram everything in and then leave the crafting bit and visiting a few forums til last, as I feel then that I can settle to enjoy a little bit of 'me' time in relative peace. Not always though, ha ha.

Anyway, I thought I'd upload a couple of cards and items I made recently for the Think Pink. I hope to get these packed up and sent out to Di this week, though I did say I would be packing them this weekend, but have failed yet again, lol. Anyway, hope to do it later this week.

I am also a tad excited as I'm starting my 'A' level Psychology tomorrow, straight from work, 6-9, so am looking forward to that a lot. :-))

I also realised that I wrote a list of the 'ingredients' ha ha that I used for each card I've made, but forgot to pop those on, so I will update those as and when I can for previous posts.

One of the TP challenges was to make 2 cards with the theme "think of a number". So here's what I came up with......................

I also caught up with the chippy ribbon challenge too, but because I didn't have the appropriate findings, I wasn't able to make it suitable for a handbag charm, so I added a little brooch pin to the reverse, so it will be used for pinning onto something or someone, lol. The pin was very kindly given to me by Karen, well she gave me a little pack actually, so more than one, lol.

Our recent challenge this week was to make a card using brown/blue colours. So after a while of thinking and ponderooing lol, I came up with this masculine type card. These colours are lovely to work with and really do compiment one another. Thanks to Caroline for setting this challenge.

I bought these last week from The Stamp Bug and they arrived on Saturday morning. I have to thank Joanne for her recommendation on behalf of some fellow crafters. They are certainly very sharp indeed, so no more "is this knife or scissors sharp" testing on the tops of my hands anymore............yes, I do that from time to time, as you do.............or, as I do, lol. I'm not sure if they will keep the sticky off from the EZ mount, but we'll soon see. Even if it's reduced slightly, it will be a god send.

Right, that's all for now, thanks for taking the time to read this. Will be back soon. XX

Monday 1 September 2008

Helloooo, bet you thought I was going to disappear again for another year, lol. Nah, I'm not really, just been busy with work and then finding the time after tea to spend some time on here.

I've been catching up with the challenges over on Bubbly Funk recently and thought I'd upload a couple of them. These are for the Tartography challenge, where we had to 'tart' up a very plain notebook/pad etc. So here's my attempt at that. :-) These were just the plain old A6 Asda notebooks that I had in amongst my craft stuff for a while, so it was good to use them for this challenge. Sorry for the quality of pic, I tried to squeeze these as near to the window as I could, lol.

Ooh, I have to tell you that I met up with Karen from Bubbly Funk on Saturday. Karen and her hubby Jeremy were paying a visit to Wales and called on us and we spent a lovely afternoon chatting. It was lovely to see Karen again, as the last time was at the NEC in November last year. Simon and Jeremy met for the first time and seemed to get on well. Well, what with the common ground they shared, ie CARS, there was plenty to chat about. Martyn brought down a couple of his model cars to show Jeremy, he enjoyed doing that too.

Karen brought the two monkies with her, I think they are called Tarquin and ? can't remember the other one, may come to me in a minute, things often do, lol. ;-) They were placed on our sofa, whereby Ozzy our dog popped up and snuggled up to them, bless. Here's a pic on Karen's blog.

So, I've been a busy girl using my brain this past two weeks in trying to fathom out how to create a watermark. I've had lots of help and feedback from my fellow bubblies on Bubbly Funk. They've been verrrrry patient indeed and I'm quite sure they could have easily screamed out loud many a time with all my confusing questions, lol.

Anyway, I've applied this watermark to the cards and 'makes' I've done recently for the Think Pink Challenges and a few of the 'Bubblies' birthdays recently, so will upload a few tonight and then do some tomorrow. Please bear with me on this watermark, it's verrrrrry early days, so it may or may not look right, or be the appropriate size, but any feedback is welcome, ta.

So, just popping on a few birthday cards which were made for the girls on BF recently.

Apologies if the spacing is way out, lol, but I can't control blogger at all. It will not listen, lol. It all looks fine till I publish it, nevermind though.

So thanks for taking the time to have a look my lovelies, catch up with you soon. XX
