Speeding along..........

That's exactly what I've been doing today, LOL.

My normal pace is to plod along, in my own time, but today I seemed to whizz by quite quickly. Funny how it goes like that, don't you think...? Well, it is for me, lol.

Anyway, I came across a set of 12 'pink' inchies that I had swapped with some of the members on Bubbly Funk. They were all snuggly tucked away in a little clear plastic bag and I thought this is no good, (even though they'd been in there for 2 years, lol), they need to be made up and popped onto a little frame of some sort, so that's what I did.

I wanted to keep them as a set, even though it didn't look quite as right as it does when they are set as a group of 9, but it's okay, I'm quite happy with it, lol.

I measured and cut some sticky backed mount board, then cut a piece of canvas from a roll, painted this with some Deco Art Wild Rose pink acrylic paint. I used a cotton wool ball to apply the paint and just dabbed it all over the canvas, leaving a few white areas. I then placed it over the mount board and stuck it in place.

I stuck each inchie in place and then decided it needed some kind of frame around it, so (after a thinking for a long while, lol), I remembered a site I clicked on ages ago, (if I remember which one it was, I will put the link up) where a heart shaped punch was used to punch 4 hearts (nooo, never?) to use as a frame. So I used the biggest heart punch I had, about 2" and punched out 4 hearts, then scored each one down the centre and added some DST and folded each one around the 4 corners. These alternative photo corners look pretty when used with a scalloped heart punch too, but I haven't got one of those, LOL.
Here's a list of the bubblies who made the inchies.........from left to right:-
Caroline, Di O, Chris, Lynne Clancy
Karen, Rosie, ME, Di W (Crazy Daisy)
Kathy, Sam, Kaz, Chris A

I made 2 other cards today too, so will upload those tomorrow. (Can't get you all excited and fainting all over the place, can I, LOL LOL)?

Thanks for taking a look. XX

Hellooo..........
I've managed to finish my inchies for the Bubbly Funk inchies swap this month. I am still behind with last weeks prompt though for the 52Q, but I think I have an idea of what I want to put on my card, so will try and do that one night this coming week.
I've received Suzie's journal too, entitled "A circle of darkness". I did not know what to expect before I opened the first page and it's rather an intriguing little journal, so will get my thinking caps on (yes CAPS), I need more for my little brain, and start on it soon, LOL!!
I will upload my inchies (always LIQ (laugh inside quiet) when I say "inchies"), after we have all swapped. I'm looking forward to these too.

So, what I have actually made?

I've made a card for my Mum, a kind of get well/thinking of you card. Thought she would like the birds on it. The lighting is either too dark for me lately, or too BRIGHT, LOL.

Here's the details for the card above:-

Inkadinkado - 97625 Birds Galore (Si got these cheap from Ebay for Xmas). ;-)
Bazzill Dew Drop - Pearlescent Poppy ink pad
Colorbox Chalk - French Blue and Dusty Plum
Hero Arts - Take a Good care greeting stamp set - LL205
Clear detailed embossing powder (transparent) Ooh, I didn't see you there, LOL!!
Stickles diamontes
Scrapbook Walls - Scarlet flowering vine paper - Chatterbox
Bazzill Fourz Blues card

Plus, I've made a little yellow and black themed card too. I scored the yellow card diagonally, though I don't think you can see it so well on the photo. I seem to be going to my old stuff lately, (think I said that in my last post, lol). Amazing what you come across. I started stamping with some old Hero Arts stamps today too, so may finish something and show you soon, that's if you want to see it, ha ha.

Details for this one are:-

Bumblebee Bazzill cardstock
Plain black cardstock
Hero Arts - Take a Good care greetings LL205
Judikins - Daisy Bouquet stamp
Stamp n Stuff clear transparent embossing powder
Yellow/black ribbon
Brads and flowers
Watercolour Lycra crayons & pencils

Well, that's all for now my lovelies. Thank you for taking a peep. XX

Just Because.....

Helllooo, I made a card yesterday for someone's birthday.

I have noticed that the last one or two creations have been made using older style papers, or rather, papers that I have in my collection which are about 3 years old. I've also picked up the inks and realised, 'hey, these are nearly 5 years old................and still ink, lol'. I was quite surprised to be honest with you. I always keep my inks face down, so as not to dry out and with regard to my papers, well, I really thought I would never use them, plus I think I'm over the stage where I no longer feel awful for 'cutting into' the latest designs, well, maybe I feel a little bit awful for just a little minute LOL!!

I'm definately going to go through my papers and start using the older styles and try to revamp things.

The green card I used for this card was just a plain piece, bought from a multi coloured pack from WH Smith about 4 years ago, nothing special, plus I thought it was quite a funky shade of green too, ha ha.

For this card I used the following materials:

Bazzill Fourz Monochromatic "Great Lakes" (blue)
Mara Mia (Maramia.com) patterned paper
Plain Green card - W H Smith
Text stamp - Elzybells
Nestabilities - Scalloped circles
Fiskars circle cutter for white circle (Nohhhh, LOL)
Crystal sticker elements in blue heart and clear
Pale blue gingham
Flowers

I made another Valentine, or Luuurve card lol, just for the fun of it, using one of my little animal stamps, sooo sweet, plus I don't seem to use these kinds of stamps very much, so thought I'd give them a go.

For this one, I used:
Penny Black - Without You 1915J stamp
Versafine vintage sepia ink
Plain red card (Craft Creations)
Daisy Bucket {love you} stamp which I embossed with a clear powder
Pink Bazzill
Cuttlebug Swirl
Crayola & Karat Aquarell watercolour pencils
Lady Bug brads
Birthday Socks ribbon (Doodlebug, (I think)).
Urban Lilly - Back in Black 'Tease Me' patterned paper.

Phew, that's quite a lot from me.............and in 2 days too, need a rest now, LOL!! Hope you've liked what you've seen and thanks for popping by my blog. XX

Sneek Peek

The time has arrived for those of us who have joined a new Circle Journal on Bubbly Funk, to send our CJ's on their 'round'. I just need to pop mine into a padded envelope and then post onto Elaine tomorrow. I thought I'd pop a little sneek peek of my front cover and then put some photos on of the rest of it, once the journals have started their journey.
I've called mine "Tranquil Moments" and here's a little peek.......

I've also been quite craftified this weekend, although not spending hours in my little room, but just a couple of hours yesterday and about the same today. Wish I could spend all the weekend doing all the little crafty jobs that need doing, but unfortunately the general house and family duties call.

Yesterday I made a Valentine's Card, (dare I say it, but I bought hubby's LOL). Just have not had the time during the week to make one. The one I made yesterday I will send it to my Mum, 'just because' and why not? For one thing, I know she will be thrilled with it, plus it will cheer her up as she is not good in health.

Materials used:

Nestabilities Labels 1 (2 sizes)
Cuttle Bug Vintage corner dies
Basic Grey - Bittersweet collection - Raspberry Cream
Basic Grey - Brown Bazzil
Brown Gingham
American Crafts ribbon (Pink block squares under the gingham)
Daisy Bucket Designs stamp - Love You
Versafine - Vintage Sepia
Colorbox Chalk - Warm Violet
Heart punch
Little heart button
Fiskars Treading water border punch

I've also done my Wk 6 of the 52Q's. Wk 6's prompt was "If I could do it all again, would I change anything?" This was for last sunday the 8th February.

Again, a lot of thinking done for this one, (too much for my little brain, LOL), but a good question all the same.

Materials used:

Watercolour card, sprayed with Juneberry Wine 02372 Glimmer Mist. It's quite shimmery, but it doesn't show too well on photo though. These sprays are really lovely and I only have one. Do you feel sorry for me.....? LOL!!

Elegant Poppy - F3045 Hero Arts - which was stamped with Versamark and embossed in white
Black and white gingham ribbon
Flowers
Brad
Edge inked with Versacolor cube Boysenberry 26
Computer generated font - Kayleigh in Black
I have some more for tomorrow, so will pop back and upload them then. Need to photo them first. Thanks for popping by and having a look. XX

Catching up!!

Yep, I'm catching up with a few crafty things very slowly and thought I'd better pop my week 5 of Emily's 52Q on. I'm doing good so far though, that I've even surprised myself, LOL!

So, Wk 5's question was - How do I feel today? Week 5 was the 1st February. Sorry for quality of late night photography, ha ha.

Despite my feelings at that time, I did think afterwards how colourful my creation was, together with the dash of glitter showing through.

I think that being positive is hard at times, but sometimes in life, we need to be positive in order to keep us focussed and remain calm on the various aspects in our lives!! Positivity also helps us to 'spot' our strengths in certain situations, therefore making us stronger and happier!

Hmmmm...... Happy days to come lol, but thank you for taking a peep and I will be back with one or two more creations soon. XX

Friday 6 February 2009

Tagged again LOL!!

Yes, I've been tagged by Tracey, thank you!! The idea is to blog the fourth photo from your fourth folder in My Pictures. It seems to be over on Bubbly Funk that a food theme could be dawning with these pics, hee hee.

So, here's mine - some strawberries I'd taken a year or so ago, when trying to work out the depth of field with my newish (at the time) camera. I must admit that I became quite addicted to DoF and was forever taken photos LOL. It's not a brilliant DoF, something I've never been able to achieve with my camera, time for an upgrade one day soon.

Nothing crafty to share, but I'm going to make my 4th 52Q card tomorrow, let's hope I'm feeling manically happy and full of beans ha ha.
Thanks for popping by. XX

Crazy Wonderings....

Firstly, I wanted to thank Gez for 2 awards given to me, gosh it's like being on telly......okay, perhaps it isn't, LOL! I think I may need to pop it on here, I don't know, I'm not used to doing this award thing, so I will have to find out tee hee. Maybe I need to award someone now or answer some questions? I shall pop back on my next post and say a few words about receiving this award.

Anyway, I'm quite surprised at the fact that I'm still keeping up-to-date with Emily's 52Q's!! I really thought that I would start off making the first two weeks, then slowly drift off and not continue anymore, but.....................nope, I'm still doing it and quite pleased with myself too, tee hee.

So, this is my Wk 4 "What do I see when I look in my eyes?" Again, lighting is not good and the flash makes it even worse, so I opted for the help of Mr Levels in PS2, LOL!!

I haven't journalled "a part" of what I see when I look in my eyes, as I felt it was too personal to relay on here, I expect some of you may think like that yourselves and well, there is nothing wrong with that.

So, I've journalled another part of what I see when I look in my eyes. It's kind of crazy, hence the way I've made this card, it's kind of "all over the place", lol.

Recipe for this weeks card's ingredients is:

Basic Grey - Color Me Silly - Giggle cardstock
Bazzill Trio Monochromatic Bahama Blue card
Bazzill Trio Monochromatic Limeade card
Versa Color Cube - 26 Boysenberry ink
Acrylic Paint Dabber in Lettuce
American Crafts square patterned ribbon
Primas
MM Brads
Not sure of the name of the paper/money type silver holder......?
Thanks for popping by and taking a look. XX

Back soon.
